As a lover of reclaimed wood and all things repurposed, naturally Jan was attracted to letterpress printing. Under the tutelage of Master Printer Gerald Lange of Bieler Press, one of the foremost letterpress printers in California, she learned the craft of printing on vintage Vandercook letterpresses in The Otis Laboratory Press at Otis College of Art and Design. The presses themselves are so beloved that they each have their own quirky personalities with names such as Bertha (one of her favorites). Featured here are some of the projects she has printed.
